Q: What is an open loop system?
A: A
system that can be installed with a supply of well water and
proper discharge area such as a river, drainage ditch,
stream, pond or lake. **Check for local restrictions
before selecting a specific discharge method.
Q: How much groundwater does an
open loop system need?
A: This
system can be installed if an abundant supply of high
quality well water is available.
Q: What is a closed loop system?
A: Two
types of closed loop systems. Vertical and Horizontal
loop systems. Vertical is used when land is limited
and in retrofit applications of existing homes. This
requires drilling hole at a depth of 150 to 200 feet. Where
U-shaped coils of pipe are inserted into the holes
Horizontal is used when there is adequate land area
available. This requires the use of excavation
equipment to dig trenches of approx. 6 to 8 feet deep and
length of 100 to 300 feet. Closed loop systems are all
self contained.

A: The white substance is actually deposits. To

showerhead fixture and leave it in place overnight. The next
day, remove the bag and use an old toothbrush to scrub off the
deposits.

the difference between PVC and CPVC plastic pipe?

A: Type K is the heaviest. Type L is medium weight and
used most often for water lines in homes. Type M is thinner and

codes allow.

trap necessary under the sink?
A: You need a trap to shut off odor (sewer gas) from
coming into the kitchen and bath area.
Q: In
the long run, which is better—chrome drain parts or plastic?
